The Importance Of Mindfulness For Kids
We practice mindfulness daily. Mindfulness: the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something. A mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
I believe mindfulness is a great skill for kids to learn. It’s necessary for everyday living.

How we practice mindfulness in our home:
Focus on our breathing
Slow down, pause + take a minute
Listen to the sounds around us
Take a 10 minute walk or bike ride
Practice yoga + stretching each morning
Find joy in small things around us
Bake or cook as a family + sit to enjoy our meal together
Painting + coloring
Listen to our favorite music + think about how it makes us feel
Reflect on what is most important to us
