Backyard Activities

June is here, and were enjoying the outdoors/weather these days. Good weather means spending majority of our time outdoors. I mean, why not? Now that we’re homeschooling, we’ve even been doing some reading, crafts, art and having our lunch outdoors. It really doesn’t get better than that. Sharing a list of our favorite backyard activities with you, all to keep the littles entertained, cool in this heat, and learning while having fun.

SCAVENGER HUNT

I set out different small toys +objects fo the kids to find. I even added some different flowers, and things you find outdoors.

WATER TOYS +PLAY

You can find $1 water toys(sprayers, balloons, buckets, etc) at Target. My kids absolutely love anything involving water. You can use this for fun +sensory play, all while keeping the kids cool in the heat.

ARTS +CRAFTS

Anything from setting the kids easel outdoors, chalk, paint stations(pictured below) and/or science crafts…is always a great idea. Especially if your kids are artsy like mine.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Jump ropes, bikes, scooters, racing, soccer balls +basketballs are some of our favorites. I use these physical activities to add to our physical education class.

GAMES TO KEEP US MOVING

Some of our favs, tag, hide-and-seek, simon says, duck duck goose. These are sure to keep the kids entertained.
